“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” — John 10:11
“. . . As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” — Matthew 25:40
The Lord has called ministers and teachers “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:12
Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry teaches (Stephen ministers receive 50 hours of training), equips, and sends out people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation who are experiencing difficulty in their lives.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care needed when people are faced with the loss of a loved one, hospitalization, divorce, loneliness or discouragement, unemployment, incarceration, or aging.
A Stephen Minister is a caring Christian friend who walks beside a person who is hurting. A Stephen Minister listens, prays, supports, and encourages. A Stephen Minister will “be there” for a person, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need.
Provide counsel and prayer for hurting persons at the close of each worship service. Training is available.
