Giving

There are many ways to give.

At Eagle Christian Church, we know that everyone manages their resources differently, and we want to make giving simple and accessible for you. Whether you choose to give online or in person during one of our services, we’re grateful for your partnership in what God is doing through His church. Use whichever method works best for you as you continue to worship through generosity.
Make a one-time gift or schedule a recurring donation using your credit/debit card or via ACH.

Give in-person

There will be an opportunity during and after service to drop your offering into a dedicated box at the entrance of the sanctuary.

Tax-smart giving

Give via stocks
Stocks held longer than a year are treated as property-just like appreciated stock. That means it qualifies for the “Double Tax Benefit”. The “Double Tax Benefit”—a full deduction and no tax on the gain!

  1. Deduction for Fair Market Value (FMV): Donors who give an appreciated asset they’ve held for more than one year can deduct its full fair market value at the time of the gift (according to IRS Publication 526, Charitable Contributions).
  2. Avoidance of Capital Gains Tax: Because the donor gives the asset directly to the church (instead of selling it first), they completely avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.

To make a stock transfer, please use the following information for our account with Morgan Stanley:

Give via DAF (Donor Advised Fund)
DAF’s are essentially a charitable savings account. Set up your DAF with a sponsoring organization–like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Thrivent Charitable Impact and Investing, etc.

Here’s how it works:
  1. The donor contributes to their DAF and receives an immediate tax deduction.
  2. The DAF sponsor invests the funds, allowing them to potentially grow tax-free.
  3. The donor recommends grants over time to qualified nonprofits (for example, ECC).

Why donors love DAFs: immediate tax deduction, simplicity, flexibility and anonymity.
Give via QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution)
Senior givers–specifically those aged 73 or older–are required to take a minimum distribution from their retirement accounts, and those 70½  and older are eligible for a QCD.

The core benefit is simple: the QCD amount is excluded from the donor’s Adjusted Gross Income.
